The estadium counts with 4.000 parking spaces (in and out the estadium). We highly recomed to use the public transportation network.

EMT (Madrid Public Bus Company)

  •  Line 28. Starts at Puerta de Alcalá. The nearest stop to the estadium is Barrio Canillejas (Esfinge). Prize 1,5 euros. Approximate time is one hour.

Metro (Madrid Underground)

  •  Line7. Estadio Metropolitano estation. Wide plattforms and halls, 50 turnstiles and thematic Atlético de Madrid decoration. Du On game days, every 3 minutes trains are deployed, carrying 25.000 people in 45 minutes.

  • Travelling from the historic center:

    From Puerta del Sol: Take Line 2 to Canal y swith to Line 7 which takes you directly to Estadio Metropolitano. Approximate time is 40 minutos.

    An alternative route is to take Line 2 from Puerta del Sol, stop at Las Rosas estation, and walk 15 minutes from there to the stadium. Approximate time is 50 minutes.

How to get around Madrid

Madrid-Barajas airport is not far away from Estadio Metropolitano, and the city has great public transporation network, connecting Spain with France and Portugal.

The public transportation network allows you to move around Madrid without a car, at a high speed across a highly reliable transportation network.

What to visit?

Culture: The art promenade connects three of the worl´s bets museums: Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia. The Planetarium, the Natural Sciences Museum and the Archeology Museum are also required stops.

Environment: Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor are a simple of the historic greatness of Madrid, together with the Palacio Real (Royal Palace) whic is located near Campo del Moro (Moro field) and Jardines de Sabatini (Sabatini Gardens).

Outdoors: Madrid has a great Green área offering, at the center the Retiro Park (Parque de El Retiro) offers a unique a beaufitul sights. Madrid River (Madrid Río), side of Manzanares river, is a great place to visit with children, while the zoo is located at Casa de Campo.

The surroundings

40 km from Madrid, Aranjuez is where generations of the Royal family spent the summer time, a Royal Palace and historic center and beatiful gardens are located within a small area.

We recomend to visit Jardín de la isla, la Plaza de Parejas and San Antonio de Padua church.

Those who lean more towards the windmills Alcalá de Henares, birth place of well known writer and Don Quijote Author, Miguel de Cervantes. In fact the home of Cervantes is today a museum.

Universidad de Alcalá, la Calle Mayor, la Plaza Cervantes, el Palacio Arzobispal y Convento de San Bernardo and Magistral de Los Santos Justo y Pastor Cathedral are also key if you visit Alcalà de Henares.

The Real Monasterio of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is another magnificent palace located one hour away from Madrid.

Food and drink

Madrid has a wide spectrum and types of places to drink and eat, cocido madrileño con verduras, cheackpeass, pork, and chorizo.

The calamari bread, bocadillo de calamares, as main dish while vegetarians may enjoy an spanish omellete and churros with chocolat (San Ginés, Pasadizo de San Ginés, 5)

Beer and summer wine (wine and sprinkler wáter) are cheap and cool. Daily menú at local restaurants is easy to find: two dishes and dessert for 10-15 euros shall energize football fans.

Madrid has the best place to eat british food. British may ignore the food culture, but in Madrid there are many bristihs restaurants to eat a lot mor ethan fish and cheaps like Los Chuchis Bar (Street Amparo, 82), a british restaurant in the heart of Lapaviés managed by chef Scott Preston. Living in London (Street Núñez de Balboa, 76) is the british corner of Madrid.

The best british beer? No doubt that James Joyce Irish Pub (Street Alcalá, 59) is one of the best locations, near Plaza de La Cibeles. The Cavern-Irish Pub (Street Santiago, 1) offers a wide selection of beers.
